We're home already?

I can't believe our week long trip is over already! The resort was BEAUTIFUL. We spent most of the week lounging around the hot tub and trying to work up the nerves to get into the icy cold pool to get new drinks from the pool bar. Such a hard week! I think we made it to both of the beach volleyball games almost everyday and definitely didn't miss any meals. Actually a few days we ate 4 or 5 times in a day. All inclusive proved to be hard on our diets and our livers...lol.

I begged Dustin all week to go out with me on one of those big water tricycles, no luck, but he agreed to go on a kayak. YEAH!! They both look like so much fun, I couldn't understand why no one was going out on them, I mean come on, they're free even. One trip out and I figured it out. They're harder work than I expected, and if you look behind us you'll notice there's really no destination. So we paddled out into the middle of nowhere and then paddled all the way back. WHEW! I also learned my lesson about picking the front seat (you can't monitor to make sure the other person is pulling their weight paddling, I'm pretty sure Dustin wasn't because it was hard work).

This little pavilion was a pretty hot spot for weddings throughout the week, but it was also dangerously close to the volleyball court. Luckily we never directly pegged a bride, but we came close enough to have them ball fetch for us a few times and made it into a wedding video trying to sneakily grab our stray ball back. I'm still not sure why they never postponed volleyball when weddings were going on.

This may look like I was trying to take a cute picture of my pedicured toes, but look closer. I was ATTACKED!! The resort had a private island that you could take a boat over to and eat dinner or relax for the afternoon. What they forgot to tell us was that it is infested with "flesh eating gnats". Okay so they weren't quite flesh eating, more like very small mosquito's, but I was covered in bites from them!! Dustin on the other hand didn't get bite once, not fair! I went to the nurse the next day because I felt like I wanted to cut off my legs they itched so bad. She basically said I was a baby and suck it up... I qoute "I don't give out drugs for only that many bites, you should have seen the guy that came in before you he had many more". I was tempted to ask her if he was contemplating cutting off his legs as well, but held back.

Vacation Countdown!!!

As most of you already know, Dustin and I are going to the Bahamas December 18th - 25th and I CAN'T WAIT!! At this point it's about all I can do to stop myself from checking out sandals.com to see a few pictures of where we'll be staying or look at what the weather is like there. I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas, but worse.

Getting ready for a trip reminds me of how opposites have attracted with us. I think I could walk out the door right now, jump on a plane with just the clothes on my back and not have a care in the world for a week. I have a really hard time with thinking in advance for some reason. Dustin is the exact opposite. He has already checked to make sure we know where our passports are, told me not to buy anymore breakfast muffins for him; he has just enough to last until the trip. (how in the heck do you think of that? I'm lucky to notice when I grab the last one) and I'm sure he has all of our itineraries in a neat binder. God really knows what he was doing. If it wasn't for Dustin, I'm sure I would leave the house with the garage door open, oven on, lights on, curling iron on and space heater on a lot more than I already do.

Fireproof

okay, okay... I'm not quite as good at keeping up on this thing as I thought I'd be. I'm going to have to show Dustin how to update this thing... I'm sure we'll get some fun posts then. Our life just isn't all that interesting.

Anyways, our church is doing a series on fireproofing your marriage right now. So we went and saw the movie Fireproof last weekend. I thought the movie was really moving, it really made you think about the little things you should be doing every day to tell your spouse you love them. Very interesting and informative for a newly wed couple such as ourselves.

Dustin on the other hand, was in for somewhat of a surprise. I'm not sure if he put 2 and 2 together about the series at church and the movie because it was not what he expected. I think he thought it was going to be more of a Ladder 49 type movie because when we were walking out I asked him what he thought of it and all he said was, "I thought there would be more fire scenes". Oh my, he never stops cracking me up!

Go ND!

What a perfect day...beautiful weather, unbelievable seats and fun tailgating. The only thing that could have been better was the ending to the game. Wow, can you believe it, 4 overtimes! We can officially say we attended the longest overtime in Notre Dame history.

We finally broke down...

Actually, I finally broke down. Dustin doesn't know about this yet (I'm sure he is going to be WAY excited though...hehe). I love reading everyone elses blogs in the morning, so I think it's only fair we do one too.
